Here are organizations and service providers across Missouri that offer veterinary assistance, food support, training resources, and other pet-related services. We are not affiliated with these groups, but share them to give families more options when seeking help.
The APA has many programs in place to keep people and pets together. The Heads to Tails Hope Fund provides needs-based financial assistance for the benefit of owners of domestic animals for veterinary care beyond routine procedures, including treatment, surgery, and medications. We will consider most requests for needed medical care, including serious chronic health problems. Depending on the level of funding available and the urgency of the needed treatment, the APA will determine whether or not to pay for all or a portion of the animal's care.
PLEASE NOTE: Funding is NOT available for emergency services, care that is already in process or for those that do NOT want to spay or neuter their pet.
Armani's Angels is a non-profit organization dedicated to raising funds to assist in the treatment of ill or injured animals. If you, or someone you know, are in need of financial assistance to help your fur baby, please complete the form below in its entirety. The more complete your answers, the faster we will be able to help your fur baby!
Submitting your application for assistance does not guarantee you will receive financial assistance. After speaking with the pet owner and vet, our board will vote and if your case meets guidelines, we will pay the vet directly.
**PLEASE NOTE: Due to an overwhelming amount of requests, we are currently only accepting applications for Boone County and all counties touching Boone County. **
Our community outreach services are available exclusively to residents of St. Clair County.
To learn more about the resources we offer, call our team at 618-235-3712.
This life-changing work is only possible thanks to the incredible generosity of people like you.
Together, we’re building a healthier, more compassionate community—one paw at a time.
BAHS offers vaccine clinics for Saint Clair County residents every other month from March to November, which include the rabies vaccination, Bordetella (dogs), DHPP (dogs) and FVRCP (cats), microchips, and flea prevention.*
The Lantz Tucker Memorial Fund for pets was founded because Lantz believed that a pet shouldn't lose the family that loves them, simply because the family doesn't have the money for emergency vet bills. Our fund is specifically to assist with vet bills for life-saving and emergency treatment, in situations in which the pet would either suffer, or be relinquished to get care, or in which the pet would be in danger of being euthanized.
~At this time, assistance is limited to the Kansas City metro and surrounding areas
~Requests for assistance are triaged, with the more urgent and life -hreatening cases receiving assistance first
Lexie’s Love is a small organization, and our big goal is to help those families that are under a financial strain and have pets with non-emergency health conditions. Due to our limited funds, our resources are allocated to those pets who meet the criteria of our set guidelines.
The Live Like Roo Foundation provides financial assistance to help cover healthcare costs related to cancer treatment in the form of grants that are awarded on a monthly basis after a complete review of this application and the relevant medical records.
To qualify and be considered for a grant, your pet must have a confirmed cancer diagnosis. (The board reserves the right to assist non-confirmed cases, based on medical records and an established treatment plan, to confirm suspected diagnosis.) We will also need copies of all relevant medical records. Once you've completed this application, you will need to send an email to medical@livelikeroo.org, with medical records showing a cancer diagnosis AND financial records pertaining to the diagnosis (estimates, invoices, etc.). **

Since 1997, Pound Pals has been helping cats live healthier, happier lives. Originating as a shelter volunteer group, Pound Pals switched to offering spay and neuter assistance for homeless cats and owned cats and dogs.
Pound Pals exclusively partners with rescue groups to provide urgent medical care for cats. Our goal is to focus on what we do best, which is fundraising for injured animals. Rescues in turn can focus on securing foster and adoptive homes, with the added security that their funds won’t be depleted.
We provide free and subsidized spay and neuter for owned animals in the Metropolitan St. Louis area and throughout Missouri when possible.
We fund Trap, Neuter, and Return efforts to reduce the community cat population so cats can live healthier, happier lives!
To get help from Shelter Friends, Inc. you must first complete a Request for Assistance form. Calling us for help is no longer an option. Filling out the form does not guarantee your request will be approved. If the cat or dog in need of help is not spayed or neutered, or if you are not willing to get them sterilized, we will not be able to help you. This is how we do our part to help reduce the pet overpopulation problem.
After we receive your submission, we'll review the information to determine if we can assist in meeting your specific need. We try to help as many animals and birds as we can, but sometimes we don't have the necessary resources. When that happens, we will forward your application to one or more organizations we think may be able to help you. In the meantime, if you are in immediate need of help for an animal(s) or bird(s) due to a life-threatening situation, below are some resources that may be able to assist you until Shelter Friends, Inc. is able to connect with you
The Killuminati Foundation is a 501c3 non-profit organization that offers financial vet assistance for non-routine vet care.

We also partner with rescue groups to promote adoption. Lastly, we focus on educational programs with local youth to share the importance of spay/neuter, animal welfare, proper care, how to approach a dog, etc.
