The RedRover Relief Safe Escape grant program helps families with pets safely escape domestic violence together. Funding is mainly provided to help with the cost of up to 45 days of pet boarding while a survivor is in a domestic violence shelter, though other costs associated with boarding (like vaccinations) can be considered. Assistance does not typically cover pet boarding once the survivor has moved from the domestic violence shelter into transitional housing.
Applications must be submitted by a domestic violence advocate and we will respond within one business day. Funding cannot be guaranteed until after we have received an application and spoken with an advocate. Please see below for more detailed information.

The National Domestic Violence Hotline is here to serve all those impacted by relationship abuse 24/7 confidentially.

If the listings that appear do not meet your needs, please consider contacting The National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-7233 for additional support.

Safe Havens for Pets is a searchable directory for pets of those experiencing domestic violence and/or homelessness, created and managed by the Animal Welfare Institute (AWI). Please note that AWI is an animal protection organization and is not equipped to provide direct assistance to domestic violence survivors. We strongly encourage anyone experiencing domestic violence to contact the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-7233 for immediate assistance.
